Meet Heather: The Face Behind The Wobbly Bobbin

Heather at her sewing machine

Hi! I'm Heather, and I am the heart behind The Wobbly Bobbin. For as long as I can remember, creativity has been my compass. My mother still tells stories of me hovering around her sewing machine, transforming stray scraps into treasures. By my teens, I was obsessed with making pillows, and in my twenties, a friend introduced me to the world of quilting—I haven't looked back since.

In my family, we joke that we don't just collect "things," we collect hobbies. My creative journey has taken me through oil painting, stained glass, chain-mail, and crochet. This lifelong curiosity eventually led me to study Fine Arts at university, giving me the technical theory to back up years of hands-on experience.

Opening my own quilt shop has been a long-held dream, and I am beyond thrilled to finally introduce you to The Wobbly Bobbin Sewing Studio.

When I'm not at the shop, I'm likely gardening, Scouting, or enjoying the outdoors (in the summer, you might even find me sewing outside!). Supporting me behind the scenes is my incredibly patient husband, my amazing son, and our dog. To keep things a bit private, you'll see me affectionately refer to them as the "Bobbin" family. I can't wait to meet you and hear about your own creative journey!
