A Week of Learning with Baby Lock in St. Louis

A Week of Learning with Baby Lock in St. Louis

, by Heather, 3 min reading time

A full week of hands-on Baby Lock training in St. Louis, working with the Triumph and Radiance, building confidence, and bringing new knowledge back to the studio.

Last week, I spent a full week at the Tacony Achievement Centre in St. Louis for Baby Lock Full-Line and Sales training. It was a chance to step away from the studio, get hands-on with the machines, and build my confidence with tools and settings I hadn’t used much before.

Hands-on learning with the Triumph and Radiance

We spent the week working on the Baby Lock Triumph serger and the Radiance sewing, quilting and embroidery machine. These are high-end machines, but the training wasn’t just about exploring the top models. We learned the essentials, then worked through how the options differ from one machine to another.

Being able to actually use the machines made such a difference. There’s something about trying a setting yourself that helps it click in a way that simply hearing about it doesn’t. I came away more confident with unfamiliar tools and settings, and even learned a few things about my own machines at home!

Learning how to help you choose

Our training team, Linda, Patty and Mike, were amazing. They were so knowledgeable, and they kept the training focused on helping people from a sales perspective rather than doing a complete deep dive into every feature.

For me, that meant building a clearer understanding of which machines offer which options, so I can help you make sense of the differences when we talk about your sewing, quilting or embroidery needs.

I also learned more about the resources available and who to call when I need help, caught up with my sales contact, and came away with some great visuals. It was valuable to build those connections alongside the hands-on learning.

A project, and a little exploring

By the end of the week, we had all completed a project. It was a lovely way to put our learning into practice and finish the week with something we had made.

Finished turquoise, green, black and white sampler with decorative stitches, pieced blocks and circular quilting.

There was a little time to explore, too. On Sunday, I went straight from the airport to visit the Arch, and on Friday I wandered through Kirkwood. A busy week of learning, with a little sightseeing tucked in at either end!

Bringing it back to the studio

One of my favourite parts of the week was being reminded that there is always something new to learn, even about machines we already own. I’m looking forward to bringing that confidence and knowledge back to The Wobbly Bobbin Sewing Studio and into our conversations.

If you’ve been wondering about the differences between Baby Lock machines, or have a question about a tool or setting on your own machine, let’s chat. I may have picked up just the thing to help, and I’ve come home knowing more about where to turn when we need an answer.
