Heather's Amish hexie project continues! Follow along for progress updates, tips, and hand-sewing inspiration.
Over the past few weeks, I've been continuing to work away on my Amish hexies — though I've intentionally slowed my pace. With two trips coming up, I don't want to burn out on the very project I've lined up as my travel handwork!

Mr. Bobbins keeps asking what the finished piece will be, and honestly? I have no idea yet. A pouch, a bag, maybe even a quilt — though I suspect the quilt idea makes him a little nervous. He watched me spend waaaay too long on a crocheted flower blanket, so he knows what he's in for!

In the meantime, the hexies have taken on a life of their own. I noticed they could work beautifully as flower petals, so I've been leaving the last point extended on some pieces. Clustering them inward didn't quite work, but fanning them outward? That did the trick. I've now stitched several little florets together and I'm having a wonderful time playing with colour and fabric combinations.

As you can see from my organizing basket, I've already made quite a few! To keep them travel-ready for both trips, I picked up a handy little pouch — only to discover it came from Air France. Apparently my hexies are flying in style. ✈️
